Mission

Little Barnyard’s mission is to give children experiences that support their whole hearts, bodies and minds while nurturing a deep love for the natural world.

To practice problem solving, persistence, trust, vulnerability and bravery during times of adversity. To have a love for learning and a strong sense of wonder. To be honest and kind.

Belonging

To feel ownership, a sense of place, comfort and home. To find acceptance in self and others. To connect to the natural world and begin to understand that we are also nature as living beings on this earth. To feel heard, understood, empathized with, and honored, where ideas and feelings are represented in the interactions, emergent curriculum development and implementation, and learning spaces.

Open-heartedness

To practice gratitude every day and find joy in the little things. To perspective-take and be mindful of ourselves and others. To love and feel loved. To listen and to be heard.
